Configuring Tasks in Task Config

You can manage the tasks in the Task Config screen, such as adding and editing tasks in the Configuration tab of the Task Config screen.

  1. Navigate to the Group Configuration tab. Click Options > Admin > Scheduler Configuration.
  2. In the Group Configuration tab, select a Scheduler Group, then click the Task Configuration tab.
  3. Click Add to create a new task. To edit an existing task, select a task, then click View/Edit.
    This will navigate you to the Configuration tab of the Task Config screen.
  4. Provide the following information:
    Field Description
    Group name This is the selected group name for the task.
    Task Name Select from the available list of task types.
    Is Active Enable this check box to set the task you selected as the active task for the group. It is recommended to select this check box after completing all the necessary fields in the Configuration and Advanced Configuration tabs.
    Task Description Provide a short description to identify the task and provide further information.
    Expected Max execution time Provide the maximum time wherein the task will be implemented in any of the following: Secs, Min, Hrs.
    Time Zone Indicate the time zone according to the location of the station.
  5. Define the scheduling method by indicating how the schedule will be executed using the Schedule By options.
    In View/Edit mode, the Schedule By option is fixed based on what you previously selected. The selection of other radio buttons is disabled.
    Radio Button Description
    Poll Interval Indicate if schedule is implemented according to the scheduled polling interval set for the task.
    • Specify the polling interval either in seconds, minutes, or hours.
    • Select the check box, Run Once, if polling interval will only be run once.
    Time/Date Indicate if schedule is based on the time/date of the set task.

    Indicate the time of implementation, and select the specific day.

    Indicate the actual date of implementation.

    Enable the check box, Task can be run after scheduled time, if the task can be executed after the prescribed schedule.

    Dependency Indicate if schedule is executed after a task is completed. When selecting this option, select from the list of task dependencies that are made available in the Execute after Task field.
    On Failure Scheduling can be set according to the failure of a certain task. Select this option and select the specific task as the trigger for scheduling.
  6. Specify the Alerts information for the specific task.
    Field Description
    Email This is the email address of the Participant who will receive an alert notification from the scheduler.
    Type Select the alert type for the alert notification:
    • Task Ends
    • Task Failed
    • Max Time Exceeded
    • Max Retry Before Alert
  7. Click OK to save basic configuration details of the scheduled task.
Each task has an Advanced Configuration tab that contains advanced settings specific to that task. Use the Advanced Configuration tab to further refine the behavior of the scheduled task.
